REO Industries has announced that automotive designer Frank Stephenson will lead the design of its upcoming vehicle lineup. The company is developing three models: the Runabout T4X and T4C pickups, along with the Runabout S4C SUV. These vehicles will share a common body-on-frame architecture and a four-wheel drive system.
The lineup will utilize non-hybrid four-cylinder engines without direct injection. The manufacturer claims the powertrain is engineered for a lifespan of 500 000 miles. To prioritize repairability, the vehicles will feature physical controls and modular body panels that can be removed in under five minutes using basic tools.
The company has secured 32 500 paid reservations for the new models. Pricing for the vehicles is set between $21 500 and $28 500. A digital reveal for the trio is scheduled for later this year, following the initial release of design teasers in June.
