Framework has announced a price reduction for its Laptop 13 Pro models equipped with 32GB or 64GB Micron LPCAMM2 memory modules. The company attributed this move to a recent procurement of memory components at a lower cost, despite the general upward trend in RAM prices observed in recent months.
The price adjustment applies to both new and existing orders. Customers who have already received their laptops will automatically receive a refund for the price difference without needing to submit a request. Similarly, all unfulfilled pre-orders up to Batch 10 will be automatically updated to the new, lower pricing structure.
Users with pre-orders up to Batch 10 are also permitted to modify their configurations to include 32GB or 64GB LPCAMM2 RAM at the adjusted rates. For customers who have already received the DIY version of the laptop, the company offers the option to swap memory modules, with Framework covering the return shipping costs for the original components.
The company noted that the availability of these lower-cost memory modules is limited. Consequently, current pricing may increase in the future. Framework stated that it intends to prioritize offering similar discounts to more customers should it secure additional batches of affordable LPCAMM2 modules in the future.
