Ford has temporarily suspended production of the F-150 pickup truck at its Dearborn Truck Plant due to supply chain issues. Operations at the facility ceased on Thursday and are expected to resume on September 29. The disruption affects approximately 3,500 to 4,000 employees at the site.
The Kansas City Assembly Plant is also experiencing production impacts, with 15 shifts canceled since the start of the month. In response to the supply shortages, the Kentucky Truck Plant has reportedly increased its production output to mitigate the overall effect on the F-Series lineup.
While the company officially cites a lack of parts, the exact nature of the supply disruption remains unconfirmed. Some reports suggest potential aluminum supply challenges, although the automaker has not provided specific details regarding the cause of the current manufacturing halt.
