The Ford F-150 Lightning is experiencing a surge in demand on the secondary market. Used models are currently selling at 50% to 60% of their original sticker price, with an average time on the market of approximately 20 days. This is significantly faster than the 44-day industry average for used vehicles in the United States.
Prices for used F-150 Lightning units have risen by 4% since the beginning of the year, reaching an average of $50 000. Ford ceased production of the model in December 2025, as high-end variants priced between $50 000 and $80 000 failed to meet sales targets. In the first quarter of 2024, Ford reported losses exceeding $100 000 per electric vehicle produced.
Ford plans to re-enter the electric pickup segment in 2027 with the Fathom, a new model built on the Universal Electric Vehicle platform. The company aims to sell 100 000 units in the first year. The standard-range version is expected to start at $28 350, with a total price under $30 000 including the $1 595 delivery fee.
