Fnality International has appointed three former central bank officials to its supervisory boards, effective September 10, 2026. Jon Cunliffe, formerly of the Bank of England, will chair the UK entity. Jochen Metzger and Ron Berndsen, both with backgrounds in European monetary institutions, join the Fnality Europe board.

The company is currently seeking regulatory approval to expand its payment system to include US dollar and euro settlements. The platform utilizes central bank money to enable 24/7 atomic settlement for tokenized assets, replacing traditional commercial bank proxies.

Fnality was incorporated in 2019 and launched its Sterling Payment System in December 2023. It received UK settlement finality designation in December 2024. In September 2025, the firm secured $136 million in a Series C funding round to support its international expansion.

The company's shareholder base includes major financial institutions such as Goldman Sachs, UBS, Barclays, Bank of America, Citigroup, BNY Mellon, Santander, DTCC, Euroclear, and WisdomTree.
