Fnality has appointed three former central bank officials to its supervisory board as it expands its blockchain settlement operations. Jon Cunliffe, the former deputy governor of the Bank of England, will chair the company's UK board. The move coincides with the firm's efforts to develop new payment systems for the euro and US dollar.

Jochen Metzger, formerly a director general at Deutsche Bundesbank, has joined the supervisory board of Fnality’s European subsidiary and is set to become its chair. Ron Berndsen, a former senior official at the Dutch central bank, has also joined the board. These appointments follow the 2023 launch of Fnality's sterling payment system, which is regulated by the Bank of England.

The company is currently building infrastructure to support tokenized asset markets, stablecoins, and tokenized deposits. To facilitate this expansion, Fnality established a subsidiary in Eschborn, Germany, for its euro system and created Fnality Bank U.S. in Stamford, Connecticut, to engage with American regulators regarding a dollar-based payment solution.

In September 2025, the London-based fintech secured $136 million in a Series C funding round. The investment round included participation from major financial institutions and firms, such as Goldman Sachs, Temasek, and Euroclear, according to data from Traxcn.
