Flock Safety has launched a voluntary severance program for its employees. According to internal communications, the application period opened on September 18 and will conclude on October 2. The company intends to approve the majority of requests submitted by staff members.

The severance package includes cash payments, several months of health insurance coverage, and the option to sell company shares within two years after departure. Reports indicate that some employees received offers amounting to tens of thousands of dollars.

The decision follows increasing public scrutiny regarding the company's license plate recognition systems. Concerns over privacy and potential police misuse have led numerous municipalities to terminate their contracts. In August alone, 93 local government bodies ceased cooperation with the firm.

Rising operational costs, driven by vandalism against the company's camera network, have further impacted the business. Additionally, some staff members are reportedly considering the buyout offers amid internal discussions regarding a potential sale of the entire company or parts of its business.
