FlashOS is a bootable live environment based on Debian 13.6, designed to manage multiple ISO images on a single USB drive. The project utilizes Ventoy for boot management, allowing users to add ISO files by simply copying them to the storage media. The system supports exFAT, which removes the 4 GB file size limit associated with FAT32.
The platform features a voice-guided menu powered by RHVoice, with eSpeak NG as a backup engine. It includes diagnostic tools for hardware monitoring, such as CPU, RAM, and disk status via SMART and NVMe. Additionally, it provides utilities for file recovery, including Partclone, ddrescue, and PhotoRec, alongside network configuration tools.
A dedicated Windows installer, FlashOS-Setup.exe, automates the creation of the bootable drive. It supports Windows 10 and 11 x64 and requires a minimum of 4 GB of storage, though 16 GB or more is recommended. The installer performs SHA256 integrity checks on the system files to ensure proper installation.
The interface is optimized for keyboard navigation and screen readers. Users can customize speech settings, including voice selection, speed, and volume. The project is hosted on GitHub, and the current release is identified as FlashOS 2026.09.12.1, with the installer version 1.0.4.
