Firmus Technologies has officially withdrawn its application for an initial public offering on the Australian Securities Exchange. The decision followed a lack of investor demand for the proposed valuation, which aimed to set the company's market capitalization between AUD 43 billion and AUD 44 billion.
The planned offering sought to raise between AUD 5.5 billion and AUD 8 billion, with shares priced at AUD 11 each. This valuation represented a significant increase compared to the company's private funding round in August 2026, which valued Firmus at $10.5 billion.
Investors expressed skepticism regarding the company's current operational scale, noting that its data centers currently utilize 46 megawatts of power. Concerns were also raised about the capital-intensive nature of the business and the company's ongoing need for future funding to support its expansion plans.
Market volatility and rising interest rates further complicated the IPO, as higher borrowing costs impact the profitability of infrastructure projects. Firmus, which counts Nvidia, Blackstone, and Jane Street among its backers, is now shifting its focus toward private capital and exploring potential future public listing options, including a possible move to Nasdaq.
