Firmus Grid Ltd., an Australian data center operator, faces uncertainty regarding its initial public offering as of October 8, 2026. The company initially planned to list at a valuation of $5.5 billion, with shares priced at AUD 11 each.
Investors expressed concerns regarding the aggressive pricing, the company's limited operating history of only two active data centers, and the high volume of tradable shares. Approximately 58% of the company's stock is expected to be available for sale immediately following the listing.
The company, which began as a Bitcoin mining operation in 2019, has secured nearly $2 billion in commitments from backers including Nvidia and Blackstone. Its facilities are intended to support clients such as Meta and OpenAI.
The market reaction affected related companies, with shares of Maas Group Holdings falling by up to 30% in Sydney. Portfolio manager Jun Bei Liu noted a significant gap between initial international interest and actual firm commitments.
