Sony has confirmed that the PlayStation 5 Pro will support a specific performance mode for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. This mode leverages the console's proprietary PSSR upscaling technology alongside enhanced ray tracing capabilities.

Naoki Hamaguchi, the director of the Final Fantasy VII series, announced on X that the new hardware allows the game to run at 4K resolution while maintaining a frame rate of 60 frames per second. This combination aims to balance visual fidelity with smooth gameplay performance.

The PSSR technology is positioned as a key differentiator for the PS5 Pro compared to the standard PlayStation 5 model. While high-end PCs remain a technical alternative for gaming, Sony is positioning the mid-generation console upgrade as a specialized device for console players.
