Fidelity’s Center for Applied Technology published a report highlighting the network health of Solana. The blockchain has maintained two years without mainnet outages, showing progress in resilience and performance.
The report notes that economic security remains strong due to high staking participation and validator incentives. Low latency and high transaction capacity support the network's ability to operate at scale.
Despite these gains, Fidelity suggests monitoring decentralization risks. Specifically, the concentration of stake among a limited number of validator identities and operators requires continued observation.
The Solana Foundation is actively working on performance improvements. In August, the network reduced slot times to 350 milliseconds. Plans are in place for further reductions to reach a 200ms target.
