Ferrari has unveiled the 296 GT Modificata, a two-seat track-only vehicle derived from the 296 GT3 Evo. The car is designed specifically for non-competitive events within the Ferrari GT Competizioni Club program and is not restricted by standard racing performance balance regulations.
The vehicle features a 2992cc 120-degree V6 engine producing 730 horsepower at 7500 rpm, which is 130 horsepower more than the 296 GT3 Evo. The powertrain includes a six-speed sequential gearbox with a carbon fiber clutch, along with a redesigned fuel system and custom internal turbo components.
Aerodynamic upgrades include a new hood with larger vents, a slotted splitter, and a redesigned rear wing with Gurney flaps. These modifications allow the 296 GT Modificata to complete a lap at the Fiorano circuit 3 seconds faster than the 296 GT3 Evo.
The braking system has been enhanced with improved ventilation and a calibrated anti-lock braking system for stability. Despite its track focus, the car retains a two-seat layout with a roll cage modification, allowing for a passenger or instructor to accompany the driver.
Owners receive a package that includes eligibility for two years or 12 events within the Ferrari GT Competizioni Club. Optional features include a rear radar warning system and custom liveries. Ferrari has not disclosed the production volume or the price of the vehicle.
