The Ferrari 296 GT Modificata is a track-only vehicle based on the 296 GT3 Evo. Unlike its predecessor, this model is not bound by FIA or IMSA racing regulations, allowing for performance enhancements that make it an estimated three seconds faster on the Fiorano test track.

The car is powered by an upgraded 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 engine, which now produces 720 hp and 800 Nm of torque. Engineers achieved this output by modifying the turbochargers, camshafts, induction system, intercoolers, and the crank train, while also installing a more robust fuel system.

Aerodynamic improvements include a redesigned front splitter, additional aero elements, and a large fixed rear wing. These changes, combined with sculpted body surfaces and larger air intakes, are designed to increase grip and stability at high speeds without the constraints of road-legal requirements.

Production of the 296 GT Modificata will be limited to a small number of units. The vehicle is exclusively available to members of the Ferrari Club Competizioni GT program, which includes participation in 12 rounds of track events over two years, featuring circuits in Spain, Italy, Japan, the US, France, and Belgium.
