Fang Cheng Bao, a brand under BYD, has officially launched its Formula S series, marking the company's entry into the electric sedan market. The lineup includes the Formula S sedan and the Formula S GT shooting brake, both featuring a 2,960 mm wheelbase.

The series starts at ¥189 900, which is approximately 17.4% lower than the initial pre-sale price range of ¥230 000 to ¥280 000 announced on August 20. The Formula S sedan is available in 5 variants, while the Formula S GT comes in 4 options.

Technical specifications include the second-generation Blade Battery with flash charging capabilities, allowing a charge from 10% to 70% in 5 minutes. The models offer a maximum CLTC range of 900 km and feature the new DiSus-M magnetorheological suspension system.

The vehicles are equipped with the God's Eye B driver-assistance system, which includes LiDAR for highway and urban navigation. The series competes in the mid-to-large-size segment against models such as the Xiaomi SU7 and the Tesla Model 3.

Fang Cheng Bao reported sales of 41 568 vehicles in August, representing a 155.57% year-on-year increase. Total sales for the first 8 months of the year reached 242 255 units, surpassing the brand's total sales volume for the entire year of 2025.
