The Fairshake super PAC has launched a $30 million advertising campaign targeting former Ohio Senator Sherrod Brown. This initiative follows the failure of the Digital Asset Market CLARITY Act in the Senate on September 15, where the procedural vote resulted in 49-50, failing to reach the required 60 votes.
Fairshake and its affiliated groups currently report a total war chest of $120.4 million. During the current election cycle, the organization has already allocated over $68 million toward congressional primaries. While Fairshake claims a bipartisan approach, its general election spending is expected to lean heavily toward Republican candidates.
The campaign against Brown includes advertising and direct mail efforts. Brown is currently challenging Republican Senator Jon Husted for a seat in Congress. In 2024, Fairshake previously spent $41 million in advertising against Brown, who subsequently lost his seat in the November election before seeking to reclaim it.
Prediction markets currently reflect shifting political expectations. On Polymarket, traders assign Democrats a 93% probability of taking the House and a 65% chance of winning the Senate. For the Ohio race specifically, Polymarket traders price Brown at 61% compared to 40% for Husted, while global market odds are tighter at 55% to 46%.
