Fairphone has unveiled the Fairbuds 2, the company's second pair of earbuds, which prioritize high repairability. The new model features a redesigned form factor with wider stems and is available in black and green color options.
The charging case for the Fairbuds 2 is 37% smaller and 32% lighter than the previous generation. Despite the reduced size, the earbuds offer significantly improved battery life, reaching up to 40 hours of total playback without active noise cancellation.
The earbuds provide up to 8 hours of battery life on a single charge, or 6 hours with active noise cancellation enabled. Charging is performed via a USB Type-C port, taking approximately two hours to complete, while Qi wireless charging is not supported.
The device is equipped with 11-mm biocellulose drivers and supports the LDAC codec. Users can connect to two devices simultaneously and adjust audio settings through a dedicated mobile app. The product is now available for order in Europe at €99 and in the US at $119.
