An explosion occurred at an Intel wafer fabrication facility in Kiryat Gat, Israel, on Wednesday. The incident involved a truck transporting nitrogen trifluoride, a toxic gas used in semiconductor manufacturing, which leaked following the blast.

Three workers were injured in the accident. Two men, aged in their 30s and 50s, remain in critical condition with severe burns and are currently on ventilators. A 26-year-old man sustained serious injuries but is reported to be in stable condition.

Emergency services, including eight firefighting teams and hazardous materials units, were deployed to the Rabin Industrial Park. Authorities confirmed that the fire has been contained and cooling operations are underway to prevent further incidents.

Intel operates two facilities in the Kiryat Gat industrial zone: the active Fab 28, which produces chips using the Intel 7 process, and the under-construction Fab 38. Reports regarding which specific building was affected remain inconsistent.
