The partnership between charging point operator EVgo and retail company Regency Centers is set to grow significantly. The companies plan to install more than 400 additional fast-charging stalls across various Regency retail sites throughout the United States.
The collaboration began in 2020 with the installation of the first charger at a Regency shopping center. Currently, EVgo operates over 150 charging stalls at these locations, which primarily consist of grocery-anchored outdoor shopping centers.
The new charging stations will be deployed in metropolitan areas across several states, including Colorado, Florida, Illinois, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Virginia. Each new site will feature up to 24 high-powered chargers.
According to EVgo, these high-powered units are designed to deliver a full charge in approximately 15 minutes. This timeframe aligns with the average dwell time of 23 minutes for customers visiting grocery-anchored shopping centers.
