The ERA-GLONASS identification system successfully located a civilian drone that crashed in the Kostroma region forests. The aircraft lost its control link while performing forestry monitoring tasks and continued flying until its battery was fully depleted.
Data from the ERA-GLONASS platform allowed specialists to calculate the drone's flight path and determine its final coordinates. The device was discovered 10 kilometers away from the point where the connection was initially lost.
The precise location data enabled search teams to recover the drone from a dense, difficult-to-access forest area. According to JSC GLONASS, this operation prevented the loss of state property and saved approximately 1.5 ₽ million in potential budget damages.
