An electric version of the Porsche Boxster has been spotted charging at a Tesla Supercharger in Carson, California. The vehicle was seen plugged directly into a NACS connector without the use of an adapter, suggesting potential changes to the charging port configuration for future Porsche models.

The prototype featured plastic cladding on the front and rear, along with tape covering the headlights and rear lightbar. Two Porsche employees were observed inside the vehicle at the charging station, which is located near the Porsche Experience Center Los Angeles.

Porsche CEO Michael Leiters confirmed in August that the company intends to build the model, citing economic viability. The development of the 718 EV involves a platform-sharing agreement with Audi.

While Porsche officially states the model is still under consideration, the recent testing at a public Supercharger site follows the car's appearance on the Nürburgring track. Production of the current 718 Boxster and Cayman models is scheduled to end in 2025.
