Edel has announced an expanded institutional strategy for its tokenized equity and commodity markets on the Canton network. The initiative is led by board member Brad Klaas, a veteran of the securities lending and prime brokerage sectors with experience at BlackRock and Franklin Templeton.
As part of this expansion, Edel has joined the DTC Digital Assets Solutions Industry Working Group. This group is collaborating on the development of the DTCC Tokenization Service, which is scheduled for launch in Q4 2026. The group includes over 100 members, such as JPMorgan, Goldman Sachs, and the NYSE.
Klaas aims to bridge the gap between traditional financial infrastructure and blockchain technology. His focus includes improving collateral mobility, liquidity, and settlement processes, allowing institutions to use tokenized assets more efficiently, such as recognizing them as margin within Edel Markets.
Edel is currently exploring the use of Canton Coin rewards for qualifying applications on the network. In August, the company reported generating tens of thousands in revenue daily, attributing this performance to the rewards program linked to economic activity on the platform.
