Eatron Technologies and WMG at the University of Warwick secured UK government funding to develop the ZENBMS project. This initiative is part of the DRIVE35 Demonstrate competition, which distributes £9 million among ten selected projects. The collaboration also includes Infineon Technologies and is scheduled to last 12 months.

The ZENBMS platform integrates Infineon’s BMS chipset with Eatron’s embedded Battery Optimisation Software. The system is designed for zonal vehicle architectures to reduce wiring complexity and overall system costs. It targets various sectors, including electric two-wheelers, drones, robotics, and off-highway equipment.

The project aims to advance the technology from a concept to a validated B-sample demonstrator at technology readiness level 5. This development is supported by the UK Government’s Advanced Manufacturing Sector Plan, which allocates £4 billion for automotive research and transformation.

Eatron CEO Umut Genc stated that the project combines AI-powered battery management expertise with semiconductor technology to create a scalable platform for zero-emission mobility applications.
