Russian developer E-Flops has completed an update to its M1 modular server platform. The project focused on optimizing ergonomics, simplifying maintenance, and refining manufacturing processes. Key structural changes include increased chassis rigidity, a reduction in the number of mounting screws, and a segmented top cover design.
The engineering team redesigned the storage drive bay layout by moving it to a separate segment to ensure easier access to other components. Assembly logic for double-width compute modules was also simplified. Most plastic components were replaced with metal parts, including new industrial-design fan grilles, which improved electromagnetic compatibility and safety.
The updated M1 server features improved labeling, including pull-out tabs with serial numbers and QR codes. Internal power circuits for the OCP standard were modified to enhance user safety while maintaining compatibility with existing 12V and 48V power configurations and previously released printed circuit boards.
The refreshed M1 server is now available in three chassis configurations: for standard 19-inch data center racks and for OCP v2 and v3 infrastructure. The product line now includes an expanded range of compute modules, all based on domestic ARM64 architecture processors.
