Dunamu, the operator of the South Korean crypto exchange Upbit, has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Alatau City Administration and Alatau City Bank. The agreement was finalized during the Korea-Kazakhstan Business Roundtable in Seoul on September 15-16, 2026.
The partnership focuses on four key areas: tokenization of real-world assets, security token offerings, stablecoins, and digital payment systems. Dunamu will provide technical expertise, while the Alatau City Administration will manage regulatory coordination for pilot programs.
Alatau City Bank plans to launch tokenization pilots for real estate and logistics projects with a target of up to $60 million. These programs are expected to begin by the end of 2026 using the infrastructure of the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange.
The broader Alatau City megaproject aims for a total investment of $6 billion. The initiative has already secured partnerships with Halyk Bank, Solana, and Binance, with Alatau City Bank having previously integrated Binance Pay into over 5,000 terminals.
