Dukosi has launched sampling for its DK-NFLNK contactless communication system, designed to connect battery analog front ends (AFEs) to a battery management system (BMS). The solution replaces traditional wiring and connectors with a single bus antenna, utilizing a near-field protocol based on the company's C-SynQ technology.
The system comprises two main chips: the DK8503 Node and the DK8203 System Hub. Each node connects to an AFE via a standard SPI interface, while the hub links to the BMS host. This setup supports a star topology and provides electrical isolation. The hardware is AEC-Q100 certified and designed for ASIL C compliance.
The company has released an evaluation kit to support proof-of-concept development. It includes a node board, system hub, necessary cabling, and a Windows-based graphical user interface. The technology is compatible with various BMS host processors and is AFE-agnostic, allowing for integration without altering existing battery architectures.
Dukosi intends the solution for use in electric vehicles, robotics, industrial applications, and energy storage systems. The common API and library support across different pack designs aim to reduce software development time. This release offers a migration path for designers moving from wired or far-field wireless BMS configurations.
