The open-source DroidDeck application allows Android smartphones to run PC games from the Steam platform. The software utilizes the Proton compatibility layer and provides a user interface modeled after SteamOS for game management.
DroidDeck supports AMD FSR and Snapdragon GSR super-resolution technologies, as well as frame generation to improve performance. The project is currently available on GitHub for public access.
Testing on a RedMagic 11 Pro smartphone equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor demonstrated the capabilities of the tool. Cyberpunk 2077 ran at 720p resolution with medium settings at 60 FPS, while Left 4 Dead 2 reached 120 FPS.
Users may face challenges with PC-oriented game design, as many titles require external controllers or keyboards. Additionally, the software may struggle with non-standard aspect ratios like 20:9 or 19.5:9 and high pixel density displays exceeding 300 DPI.
