DPD Russia has integrated with the Bank of Russia's digital ruble platform to comply with legal requirements for companies with revenue exceeding 120 ₽ million. While the company has received client inquiries regarding digital ruble payments, no actual transactions have been processed yet.
The implementation required technical adjustments to the company's ERP system and cash register services, including the addition of a specific payment type for digital rubles and a new Z-report format. The integration process itself was free of charge for the logistics provider.
The company expects to reduce banking commission costs, as the transaction fee for digital rubles is set at 0% until the end of 2026, followed by a 0.3% rate capped at 1500 ₽ per operation. This compares to standard card payment fees of 1.5% to 3%.
DPD identifies cash-on-delivery services as the primary area for potential digital ruble adoption. However, the company notes that digital rubles cannot be placed in deposits or overnight accounts and require conversion to non-cash funds for such purposes.
Financial director Tatyana Verkhova stated that the economic impact will depend on the level of customer adoption. The company maintains that its infrastructure is now fully prepared to handle digital ruble payments as demand grows.
