Dodge is reportedly preparing to restart production of the Charger SRT Hellcat equipped with a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine. According to reports, the automaker aims to manufacture 12,000 units of this model annually, with production scheduled to commence by the end of 2027.
The potential reveal of the new Charger SRT Hellcat is expected to take place next August during the Roadkill Nights event. While the company has not officially confirmed these plans, the vehicle is anticipated to feature a more aggressive hood design, a large rear wing, and an engine output exceeding 700 horsepower.
The current Charger lineup, which transitioned to battery-electric and twin-turbocharged inline-six powertrains following the discontinuation of Hemi engines in 2023, continues to see sales growth. Through September, Dodge reported sales of 8,029 combustion-powered Chargers, marking a 330 percent increase compared to the previous year.
Beyond the potential return of the V8 Charger, Dodge is expanding its portfolio with two additional models, including a new halo vehicle and the GLH crossover. The CEO of Dodge, Matt McAlear, noted that the non-SRT variant of the GLH is expected to be priced below $40,000.
