A leaked design schematic suggests that DJI is developing a teleconverter lens for the Pocket 4P camera. The accessory is designed to be mounted in front of the device's top telephoto lens.
The Pocket 4P features a dual-lens system arranged vertically. Industry experts note that the teleconverter placement should not obstruct the bottom wide-angle lens, allowing users to switch between focal lengths without interference.
The vertical lens configuration helps optimize the 16:9 aspect ratio, as the teleconverter barrel is less likely to intrude into the wide-angle field of view. This design is particularly useful for capturing distant subjects.
Users have already begun utilizing the Pocket 4P for recording concerts and stage performances. A teleconverter could improve image quality for these use cases by reducing the need for digital cropping when filming distant artists.
DJI has not yet provided official details regarding the accessory. Information on the final product design, magnification power, and release schedule remains unconfirmed by the company.
