Tech analyst Ice Universe compared the display performance of the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra and the iQOO 16. The Galaxy S26 Ultra is equipped with an M14 OLED panel, while the iQOO 16 utilizes the newer M16 OLED technology.
The primary criticism concerns the optical design of the Galaxy S26 Ultra, specifically regarding its Privacy Display feature. Even with this function disabled, the device exhibits significant color shifts when viewed from off-center angles, with skin tones appearing yellow-green.
In contrast, the iQOO 16 maintains color accuracy and image detail more effectively at extreme viewing angles. The analyst suggests that Samsung's focus on privacy features may have compromised overall display transparency and color stability.
Concerns have been raised regarding the upcoming Galaxy S27 Ultra. Even if Samsung upgrades to the M16 OLED panel, the current optical architecture could continue to limit the display's performance and image consistency.
