Discord has introduced the Discord Ads Manager, a centralized platform designed for managing advertising campaigns. The tool enables companies to perform forecasting, set objective-based bidding, and monitor campaign performance. While currently available to a select group of advertisers, the platform will offer self-service access to businesses of all sizes starting in early 2027.

The company is also rebranding its video ad format to Video Quests Reserve. Previously tested in beta on desktop browsers and mobile apps, this premium, reservation-based offering allows advertisers to track metrics such as clicks and impressions. Discord plans to introduce additional tracking objectives for this format in the near future.

These advertising initiatives follow Discord's confidential IPO filing reported in January. The company aims to diversify its revenue streams beyond premium subscriptions and game sales. Global VP of Advertising Adam Bauer stated that Discord will continue to invest in new ad formats to support various business goals, from brand awareness to app installations.

Discord launched its first advertising efforts in 2024 with the introduction of Quests. Despite concerns from some users regarding the impact of ads and other platform changes on the user experience, the company maintains that these efforts are necessary for financial viability. CTO Stanislav Vishnevskiy noted that the company remains focused on thoughtful monetization.
