Discord is developing a new Game Mode to improve system performance during gaming sessions. The feature is designed to automatically detect when a user launches a game and subsequently reduce the application's CPU and GPU resource consumption.
According to information from the Discord Previews account, users will be able to toggle this feature via the settings menu. Once enabled, the application will automatically minimize its background impact by disabling specific visual effects and reducing interface animations.
This update aims to streamline the experience for users with lower-end hardware. By automating the reduction of resource-heavy animations, players will no longer need to manually adjust settings every time they start a game to ensure optimal performance.
