Between January and August 2026, the number of procurement procedures related to the implementation of the digital ruble increased by 3.3 times compared to the same period in 2025. Data from the TenderPro electronic trading platform indicates that the primary demand is focused on software development, integration, and implementation, which accounted for approximately 64% of all procedures.
The volume of procurement for software development and integration grew more than 12 times year-on-year. Security-related services, including audits and the supply of protection tools, represented 19% of the total. Consulting and market analysis services accounted for 12%, showing a 13% decline, while hardware and software supply reached 5% of the total, marking a 50% increase.
The banking sector leads in procurement volume, accounting for 68% of the procedures. Other significant participants include energy companies at 8%, IT and research organizations at 10%, and the mining and metallurgy industries at 5%. Retail trade accounts for 4%, while other sectors represent the remaining 5%. Moscow, Yekaterinburg, Rostov-on-Don, and Krasnoyarsk are the leading cities for these activities.
According to TenderPro, the current procurement structure reflects a transition from exploring the digital ruble to preparing corporate systems for practical use. The growth in software integration and information security solutions suggests that businesses are actively adapting their existing IT landscapes to accommodate the new payment infrastructure.
