Diasoft has introduced a new approach to electronic document management systems (EDMS) by moving away from monolithic platforms toward a microservices-based architecture. The company's Digital Q.EDMS solution is designed to integrate directly into existing corporate software, such as ERP or CRM systems, rather than operating as a standalone application.
The core functionality of Digital Q.EDMS includes document cataloging, routing, template management, and support for three types of digital signatures. These services communicate with external systems via REST API or Kafka, allowing businesses to embed document workflows into their current operational processes without maintaining separate, isolated IT environments.
This modular architecture allows companies to select specific document management features based on their unique requirements. By treating EDMS as an infrastructure layer rather than a standalone product, Diasoft aims to shift market competition from the sheer volume of features toward the quality and seamlessness of system integration.
The company notes that while monolithic systems were historically developed to address diverse corporate needs, this often led to increased complexity and integration challenges. The new approach focuses on enabling users to perform document-related tasks, such as approvals, directly within their primary business applications.
