DeFi Development Corp (DFDV), a Nasdaq-listed digital asset treasury firm, added approximately 22,070 SOL to its holdings last week. This acquisition, valued at about $2,373,211, brings the company's total treasury to roughly 2,586,282 SOL tokens, with a market value of approximately $287 million.
The firm, formerly known as Janover, transitioned to a Solana-focused strategy in April 2025. DFDV funds its token purchases through a $300 million at-the-market program, which involves selling new perpetual preferred shares, known as CHAD. The company recently authorized buybacks for CHAD shares whenever they trade below their $10 par value.
CHAD shares reached all-time highs in the week ending October 9, nearing the $10 mark. The stock pays a variable annual dividend of 13 percent, or $1.30 per share, declared daily. Holders are scheduled to receive $0.00516 per share each business day through October 30.
Despite the dividend, the company faces market pressure as its main asset, SOL, has declined approximately 62 percent from its January 2025 peak. DFDV's common stock traded at $4.41 on Monday, resulting in a market capitalization of about $140 million, which is roughly half the value of its SOL holdings.
