Streaming platform Deezer is developing a new feature that allows users to filter out AI-generated content. The company plans to release this toggle before the end of the year, enabling listeners to exclude AI-created tracks, albums, and artists from their search results.

The decision follows a survey conducted last year, which indicated that approximately 45% of Deezer customers desired the ability to remove AI-generated music from their feeds. CEO Alexis Lanternier stated that the rise of AI content on the platform served as a primary catalyst for implementing these controls.

Deezer has been monitoring AI uploads since introducing detection tools last year. While AI-generated tracks accounted for 10% of daily uploads at that time, the figure rose to over 50% by July 2026, with an average of 90 000 tracks uploaded daily.

Other streaming services have adopted different approaches to AI music. Bandcamp has implemented a total ban on AI-generated tracks, while Tidal has ceased monetization for such content. Spotify currently focuses on labeling AI-generated tracks and artists, and Apple Music is reportedly planning to introduce similar labeling by the end of the year.
