DeepSeek has officially integrated web search and scraping capabilities into its API. Starting November 1, 2026, at 00:00 Beijing time, these search and fetch interface calls will be billed at a rate of ¥5 per 1,000 successful requests.

Currently, users utilizing the DeepSeek API through tools such as DeepSeek Harness, Claude Code, and Codex can access search and fetch functionalities without incurring additional charges. This grace period will conclude at the end of October 2026.

The company also introduced the DeepSeek V4.1 Flash-1017 model on October 17. According to internal benchmarks, the model achieved a pass rate of 77.0 percent, surpassing the 74 percent rate of the previous V4.1 Flash iteration.

Efficiency improvements in the new model are notable, with peak performance reached at an average cost of approximately ¥1.3 per task. This cost-to-performance ratio is described as lower than that of comparable international models.

The V4.1 Flash-1017 model is now available across the official web platform, mobile application, and API. It includes optimizations for frameworks like DeepSeek Harness, Tencent CodeBuddy, and WorkBuddy, alongside reduced latency and output length.
