DeepSeek announced a partnership with Huawei to develop programming tools optimized for Ascend AI chips. The initiative includes open-sourcing computing and communication libraries to build a software infrastructure independent of NVIDIA ecosystems.
The collaboration focuses on the TileLang programming language, an open-source tool designed for AI hardware. According to DeepSeek, TileLang simplifies coding logic and improves development efficiency compared to NVIDIA CUDA.
Huawei provided comprehensive support for the infrastructure development. The companies are also advancing a super-node solution based on 128 Ascend 950 chips, aiming to optimize both computing and communication performance.
This move follows Huawei's recent introduction of its latest AI processors and super-node computing systems. The company expects its AI hardware to see widespread adoption in model training starting next year.
