Deng Chenghao, Vice President of Chongqing Changan Automobile and Chairman of Deepal Technology, addressed the industry at the 2026 World New Energy Vehicle Congress. He noted that while hardware features like in-car refrigerators, rear entertainment screens, and karaoke systems are common, their actual usage rates are low, with refrigerators seeing only 5% utilization.
The executive argued that simple hardware accumulation no longer guarantees product success in a competitive market. Instead, he emphasized that systemic capabilities are now the primary factor for building a competitive advantage. He clarified that low usage statistics do not negate the value of these features for family users.
Deepal continues to offer in-car refrigerators as an option in models such as the S09, S07, and G318. Furthermore, the company plans to include an intelligent heating and cooling box as an available configuration in the upcoming Deepal S07 AI Laser Edition, which is scheduled for release following the conference.
