DAF, a Paccar Group brand, is set to showcase its expanded electric truck lineup at the IAA Transportation 2026 exhibition. The presentation includes the new flagship XG+ Electric and the XG Electric, both designed for long-haul transport. These models feature modular powertrains with electric motors delivering up to 350 kW and battery capacities ranging from 315 to 525 kWh, providing a maximum range of 500 km.
The manufacturer is also introducing new electric configurations for the construction and special application sectors. These include 6x2, 6x4, and 8x4 tractor units and trucks. The 6x4 and 8x4 models are engineered for heavy-duty tasks with axle loads of 19 and 21 tonnes, respectively. For the German market, DAF has developed specific 4x2 and 6x2 chassis designs compatible with BDF swap bodies.
DAF highlights improved payload capabilities across its electric range, including the XD, XF, XG, and XG+ models. By utilizing a legal gross weight allowance and optimized weight distribution, these trucks can carry up to 500 kg more than diesel versions. A new battery arrangement, which shifts four packs behind the cab, further reduces front axle load by 700 kg and increases payload capacity by up to 2.5 tonnes.
