CXMT president announced that the company plans to release its first 4F² DRAM server DDR5 RDIMM modules by the end of the year. The technology utilizes Vertical Surrounded Gate transistors, which reduce the cell area to approximately two-thirds of current 6F² designs.

The manufacturer has secured over 300 patent families related to 4F² technology. Research and development efforts include hybrid bonding techniques, which the company has been working on since 2019 to optimize logic and cell density independently.

According to TrendForce, CXMT captured 9.5% of the global DRAM revenue in the second quarter, rising from 7.6% in the first quarter. This performance secures the company the fourth position in the global market.

The company previously launched its fifth-generation G5 DRAM platform into mass production on September 20. Last November, it also demonstrated DDR5-8000 and LPDDR5X-10667 memory modules.

Despite the announcement, specific technical details such as capacity, speed, process node, and production volume remain undisclosed. Industry reports suggest that achieving stable high-volume production for 4F² units remains a significant challenge.
