Curve Finance has officially launched its StableSwap protocol on the Stellar mainnet. This marks the first time the decentralized exchange has deployed its infrastructure natively outside of the Ethereum Virtual Machine ecosystem.

The integration allows users on the Stellar network to create permissionless liquidity pools, swap assets, and provide liquidity. StableSwap is specifically designed for trading assets that maintain similar price pegs, such as stablecoins or wrapped tokens.

At the time of the announcement, Curve Finance reported a total value locked of approximately $1.27 billion. The Stellar network currently hosts a stablecoin market capitalization of about $394 million, with USDC representing the majority of that volume.

Looking ahead, the protocol developers have stated intentions to introduce the FXSwap product to the Stellar ecosystem. This expansion is currently pending the completion of necessary security audits.
