The total volume of payments processed via cryptocurrency cards has reached a record $12,5 billion. This figure represents a 140% increase year-to-date and a 247% growth compared to October 2025 levels. Analysts attribute this rise to the increasing use of stablecoins for cross-border transactions, which offer faster and more cost-effective payment processing.
The demand for QR-based spending is also contributing to the sector's growth. Jupiter Spend, a major on-chain card provider, reported a 55% quarter-over-quarter increase in the number of activated cards. This trend highlights the expanding role of crypto cards in daily financial operations and consumer payment habits.
Major companies are actively entering the market with new product offerings. Fold Holdings has begun issuing its Bitcoin Credit Card, which operates on the Visa network via Stripe Issuing and is accepted at 175 million merchants. The card provides rewards in bitcoin, with base rates of 1,5% and potential increases up to 4% based on user behavior.
Aven has introduced a distinct financial product, the Aven Bitcoin Visa Card, which allows users to borrow up to $1 million against their bitcoin holdings without selling the underlying assets. The credit line features annual percentage rates starting at 7,99% with repayment terms extending up to 10 years.
