The Croatian Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund (FZOEU) is launching a new EV subsidy program in October 2026. The government has allocated a budget of €20 million, which is expected to support approximately 3,000 applications for new electric vehicles.
Subsidies are tiered based on the gross purchase price. Electric cars costing up to €35,000 are eligible for up to €9,000, while those priced between €35,000 and €62,500 can receive up to €7,000. Vehicles exceeding €62,500 do not qualify for funding.
Light electric vehicles in categories L1 to L7 are eligible for a maximum incentive of €2,500, provided their purchase price does not exceed €35,000. Additionally, the government bonus is capped at 40 percent of the gross purchase price for all eligible vehicles.
The application process has moved to the digital platform eFZOEU, requiring verification through the NIAS system. Applicants must provide a binding price quote, a recent residence certificate, and a signed declaration. Applications are processed in the order they are received.
The program allows for one application per person and covers both cash purchases and finance leasing, excluding operational leasing. Previously, Croatia invested €63 million in various programs, supporting over 11,000 environmentally friendly vehicles.
