Credo Technology Group has secured PCI-SIG 6.x compliance for its Toucan Gen6x16 PCIe retimer. The certification was formalized on August 31, 2026, following successful testing at a PCI-SIG workshop on July 31, 2026. The device is now included in the PCI-SIG Integrators List.

The Toucan retimer supports 16 lanes at speeds up to 64.0 GT/s using PAM4 signaling. Built on a 7 nm process, the hardware consumes 11 W of power and maintains latency under 7 ns. It is designed for environments with insertion loss between 36 and 40 dB, such as dense GPU clusters.

In addition to PCIe 6.x, the device supports CXL 3.x and maintains backward compatibility with older PCIe generations. This follows a previous compliance achievement in February 2026, when the platform passed testing for the PCIe 5.0 standard at 32.0 GT/s.

The new standard doubles bandwidth compared to PCIe 5.0, providing approximately 128 GB/s of bidirectional throughput for a x16 link. Credo competes in this segment with companies like Astera Labs and Microchip Technology, targeting AI infrastructure and high-performance computing.
