Jim Cramer has designated Nvidia and Apple as his only sacred stocks, exempting them from his standard sell discipline. This approach contrasts with his usual strategy of advising investors to sell holdings as soon as the original investment thesis changes.
Cramer identifies management quality as the primary reason for this status. He highlighted Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang’s 2022 performance and Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff’s leadership during the Great Recession as examples of management that earned his long-term trust.
Despite this status, Cramer maintains that investors must continue to monitor these companies. He noted that Nvidia’s valuation differs from Apple’s performance, and he warned that business conditions can change for any firm, regardless of past success.
To illustrate the risks of blind loyalty, Cramer referenced the failed $11.8 billion buyback strategy of Bed Bath and Beyond. He emphasized that even companies with previously trusted management can misread their business trajectory.
