Costco and DoorDash have expanded their global partnership to include same-day delivery services across the United States. Customers can now order groceries, electronics, and household essentials from local Costco warehouses directly through the DoorDash application by linking their active membership accounts.

This launch follows a period where Costco remained one of the most-searched retailers on the DoorDash platform. With this addition, DoorDash now maintains partnerships with eight of the 10 largest food retailers in North America, continuing its strategic expansion into grocery and retail sectors beyond its core restaurant business.

DoorDash reported in August that its non-restaurant verticals are growing faster than its primary restaurant segment. The company expects these new categories to reach gross profit positivity by the end of the year, noting that customers often increase their basket sizes after transitioning from restaurant orders to grocery and retail purchases.

The collaboration with DoorDash complements Costco's existing delivery network. Recently, Costco also expanded its partnership with Uber Technologies to provide delivery services via Uber Eats across 47 U.S. states, following successful testing phases in Texas and subsequent international rollouts in countries including Japan, Mexico, and France.
