Nikita Krasnov, the creator of COSMOS, developed the platform to automate routine operations within his fashion business. The system serves as an organizational layer for AI agents, managing tasks, context, and tools while maintaining connections to existing business systems like 1C.
The architecture of COSMOS is built on Python and PostgreSQL, utilizing MCP for tool integration. The web interface is developed with Angular and TypeScript, while the desktop shell uses Rust and Tauri. The platform also includes a Telegram interface for interaction.
Krasnov emphasizes the importance of a verifiable result in automated processes. The system employs an 'Action Envelope' contract to manage intentions, policy checks, previews, and final verification of actions. This ensures that AI agents operate within defined boundaries.
The project focuses on organizing work between humans, systems, and agents rather than full autonomy. By defining agent roles with specific scopes, the system allows for human oversight in critical decision-making, such as applying changes to production databases.
Future development plans include pilot projects on specific tasks, such as integration updates and testing. Success is measured by the total cost of a verified result, accounting for model usage, tools, and human review time, rather than just token costs.
