Copart has announced the acquisition of ACV Auctions in an all-cash transaction valued at $1.9 billion. This deal allows Copart to integrate ACV’s digital dealer-to-dealer wholesale marketplace into its existing operations, which currently focus on salvage and insurance-related vehicle auctions.

ACV Auctions operates a platform that handled approximately $10 billion in gross merchandise value during 2025. The company manages over 800,000 vehicles annually and maintains a network of more than 22,000 active buyers. These resources will now complement Copart’s physical logistics and international sales infrastructure.

The acquisition provides Copart with access to dealer trade-ins and inventory that were previously outside its primary scope. By combining ACV’s inspection, valuation, and financing tools with its own network, Copart aims to manage the lifecycle of a vehicle from initial trade-in to its eventual status as a total loss.

Financial performance data for ACV shows second-quarter revenue of $214 million, representing a 10 percent increase, though the company reported a GAAP loss of $8 million. Copart expects the acquisition to be earnings-neutral in the first year and accretive starting in fiscal 2028.
